The fourth day of the residency, New York woke up with no one but three pieces of Banksy. The secretive artist decided to give a Broadway makeover to tags that already existed in three different locations of the city, mostly Brooklyn (Thanks Banksy!). The street artist hit through his Instagram account stenciling ‘The Musical’ beneath a screed that read ‘Occupy’ on a red background. It was a nice one to catch: Banksy blending himself with the battle-cry of the anticapitalist movement. Unfortunately it was entirely defaced just moments after it was discovered. They even dissed the ‘Occupy’ tag, which wasn’t by Banksy, so it was impossible to find. According to the artist’s Instagram account, it was on Bushwick. However, the one in Bushwick was actually the one that still reads ‘Dirty Underwear’, which an old man just tried to clean, as reported by Animal New York.

  1. I managed the building on Bushwick and heard the story. The old man’s name is Manny and he was told to remove the Banksy by the building board of directors.
